Lynnfield Went With Gomez Nearly 2-1

Ed Markey won Tuesday night’s special Senate election by a about a 55-45% margin, but in Lynnfield, voters backed his Republican opponent Gabriel Gomez by a nearly 2 to 1 margin.

Gomez carried all four of the town’s precincts, garnering 1,585 total votes in Lynnfield to Markey’s 893. Third party candidate Richard Heos received nine votes in Lynnfield.

Vote count by precinct is as follows:

Precinct 1: Gomez 425, Markey 238, Heos 1.
Precinct 2: Gomez 299, Markey 200, Heos 3.
Precinct 3: Gomez 335, Markey 218, Heos 1.
Precinct 4: Gomez 526, Markey 237, Heos 4.

Total voter turnout in town was 27%, with 2,494 ballots cast.
