Lynnfield Storm Info: Watch For Slippery Roads This Morning

Winter weather continues to lurch from one extreme to the next this season, with the National Weather Service now forecasting up to 11 inches of snow in the Lynnfield area. A winter storm warning is in effect from 1 p.m. Tuesday until 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Update 6:30 a.m. - There is no announcement of any cancellation from the Lynnfield School District at this point.

Update, 9:47 p.m. - The Lynnfield Whole Foods reports that the Zumba class it had scheduled for Wednesday morning has been canceled due to the storm.

Update, 8:05 p.m. - The Lynnfield Library closed early today due to weather and, pending an official announcement Wednesday morning, advises patrons to call ahead to make sure they will be open.

Update 4:09 p.m. - A message from the Massachusetts Executive Office of the Trial Court: The Massachusetts Trial Court has canceled First-day Jurors for Wednesday, January 22nd, in most counties statewide.   Jurors are still requested to appear in Berkshire County and Hampshire County. Also on Wednesday, courts will be closed in the following counties due to blizzard conditions forecasted to continue through the morning: Barnstable County, Bristol County, Plymouth County, as well as Dukes
and Nantucket Counties.

Update 3:38 p.m. - Governor Patrick has sent home state employees for the day and is also asking private businesses to send their workers home as well before the storm hits.

Update 12:10 p.m. - If you have travel plans later, you might be out of luck. Most flights for tonight have reportedly already been canceled. Learn more here.

Update, 10:12 a.m. - The town of Lynnfield has announced a snow emergency set to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Any vehicles parked on the street during this time will be subject to ticketing or towing. Residents are also reminded not to plow or blow snow into streets. Non-emergency vehicles should also stay off the roads during this time.
