Representative Bradley H. Jones, Jr. and Senator Thomas M. McGee recently announced that the Lynnfield Cultural Council has been awarded a Local Cultural Council Program grant from the MCC totaling $4,250.
Announced by the MCC as part of a statewide funding initiative, the grant will help to support a variety of cultural activities to benefit local residents.
“I am pleased the MCC has afforded the Lynnfield Cultural Council the opportunity to continue the amazing work they do to bring the arts to the residents of Lynnfield,” said Jones. “This funding will help continue the ongoing outreach initiative and success of the Cultural Council here in Lynnfield.”
The Local Cultural Councils comprise the most extensive public cultural funding network in the nation. They continue to provide funding to every Massachusetts city and town through 329 local councils and more than 2,300 volunteers.
“It’s great that there is state support for the arts, humanities, and sciences” said Senator Thomas McGee. “This grant for the Lynnfield Cultural Council will allow them to continue to provide after-school activities and cultural programming that is needed in our community. By supporting these programs, it helps to continue the progress that is being made to promote cultural education and stimulate the economy.”
