The following is an announcement from the office of Rep. Brad Jones, Jr.
Representative Bradley Jones (R-North Reading) is pleased to report that the Citizens for Limited Taxation (CLT) recently released its Legislative Ratings, and has ranked the North Reading Republican with a near perfect voting record – 95%.
“I hope this report indicates to the members of the 20th Middlesex district that their voices will continue to be heard,” said Representative Jones. “During this time of economic uncertainty, it is my ongoing commitment to help lower the burdensome taxes facing the residents of Massachusetts.”
The 2011-2012 Legislative Ratings conducted by the CLT rates legislators on direct and indirect taxpayer issues for which there were roll call votes.
In the recently released scorecard, House lawmakers earned good grades for voting in favor of rolling back the state income tax rate and sales tax rate to 5%, and for freezing Unemployment Insurance tax rates. The CLT Legislative Ratings Report also favorably viewed legislation which required the State Auditor to account for every state-funded credit card and make MBTA pensions available on a public website.
CLT compiles the Legislative Report at the end of each two-year session to ensure that the members of its organization know legislators’ records on key economic and public-policy issues, and to recognize lawmakers who understand the importance of a vibrant economy for all residents.
