Four New Members Join Rec. Commission

Selectmen confirm new members in light of recent resignations and two expiring terms. Other appointments include Dave Nelson to RMLD Citizen Advisory Board, and Carol MacKendrick to cultural commission.

The Lynnfield Recreation Commission is getting an infusion of new members following approval by the board of selectmen at this week's meeting. Two of the vacancies came up because the terms of members Bob McDonald and Wayne Shaffer are expiring. The other two vacancies stemmed from the resignations of Chris Barrett, who was elected to the school committee this spring, and Vince Inglese.

Three of the new members - John Judd, Frank Morelli and Robert Relihan, will serve full three-year terms, while Rod Boone will serve out the remaining two years of one of the vacancies.

As the new members were confirmed, Selectman Al Merritt noted that all of them have been very active in the town's youth sports programs, and he also cited their potential for bringing some new ideas to the recreation commission.
