Candidates Set For Town Election

Deadline was Feb. 21 for prospective candidates to submit their nominating papers. Several contested races

Prospective candidates for town office had until early last week to submit their paperwork - and now that all the petition signatures are counted, it looks like there will be several contested races this year.

With that, here is a look at the candidates that will be in the 2012 Lynnfield town election:

- For the open selectman seat being vacated by Arthur Bourque, Tom Terranova and Dave Nelson are running.

- For the town assessor position being vacated by Dave Nelson, Harry LeCours and Donald Garrity are running.

- For the two school committee seats being vacated by Michael Craffey and Tim Doyle - Christopher Barrett, Salvatore Cammarata and James Dillon are running.

- Arthur Bourque is running for town moderator.

- Seavey Beaudoin and Kerry Haughney are running for re-election as library trustees.

- Randall Crompton is running for election to the open 5-year seat on the planning board. Richard O'Neil, Jr. is running for the one-year seat.

- Lillian Ross is running for re-election to the Lynnfield Housing Authority.

- Separately, town residents will vote in the Massachusetts presidential primary at Lynnfield High School on March 6 from 7a.m. to 8 p.m.
