Woman Arrested For Assault, Prescription Theft

Note: An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A 33-year-old woman is facing several charges after an incident Friday where she is accused of stealing prescription drugs and then assaulting a town resident when confronted about it.

A report indicates that Sara Barry, whose listed address is in Seattle, Washington, is charged with larceny of a drug, assault and battery on an individual over 60 and larceny over $250.

According to the report, the woman's father, a Lynnfield resident, reported that his daughter was staying with him at the time of incident to help with his care - and that a quantity of Oxycodone and Valium pills had gone missing, as well as a sizeable sum of cash.

The suspect allegedly became enraged when confronted about the missing pills and is accused of striking the 64-year-old man over the head with a broomstick, leaving a mark in the process. From there, she is believed to have called a South Weymouth resident to come and pick her up, and Lynnfield Police sought an arrest warrant, they said. The woman was reportedly arrested at the Weymouth Police Station on that warrant and was also served with an emergency restraining order stemming from the assault allegation, police said.
