Vandals Pull Up Signs At LHS; More Vehicle Break-Ins Reported

Lynnfield Police Log for April 18-24.

Lynnfield Police responded to the following calls for service the week of April 18-24, 2011:

On Monday, April 18 at 6:53 a.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Maiden Lane.
Throughout the week, police performed various building checks and selective traffic enforcement actions.
At 7:23 a.m., a Summer Street resident called to report a loud radio coming from a nearby construction site.
At 7:40 a.m., police assisted a Ross Drive resident with a vehicle lockout.
At 7:55 a.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Candlewood Road.
At 8:17 a.m., an accidental burglar alarm activation occurred on Main Street.
At 9:19 a.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Partridge Lane.
At 10:03 a.m., another motor vehicle break-in was reported on Partridge Lane.
At 10:11 a.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Hart Road.
At 12:19 p.m., an Essex Street resident reported that a nearby vacant house had been entered and subjected to additional damage.
At 12:27 p.m., police took a walk-in report involving threats.
At 1:55 p.m., a caller from North Broadway reported a vehicle blocking part of the sidewalk.
At 3:33 p.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Edward Ave.
At 6:20 p.m., a caller told police that children were climbing on tree limbs over Main Street. Police found the children to be under parental supervision, on their own property, and not over the street.

On Tuesday, April 19 at 4:47 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at Eastern Bank. The building was found secure.
At 9:34 a.m., police checked out a 911 hangup call.
At 7:21 p.m., a caller reported spotted several youths with beer in an auto. Police were unable to find them.
At 9:26 p.m., police checked out a report of two dark sedans parked side by side near Forest Hill Ave.

On Wednesday, April 20 at 1:43 p.m., police arrested James B. Nelson, 24 of Dorchester, for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
At 1:47 p.m., police took a parking complaint from near Goodwin's Rotary.
At 2:38 p.m., a faulty system triggered a burglar alarm on North Broadway.
At 6:47 p.m., police took a report involving fraud.
At 6:54 p.m., a 911 hangup call was received from the Christmas Tree Shop.
At 10:25 p.m., police assisted a motorist on Walnut Street.
At 10:47 p.m., police took a 20 year old male into protective custody.

On Thursday, April 21 at 4 a.m., police arrested Kevin Siama, 32, of Lynn, for operating under the influence of liquor.
At 6:39 a.m., a vandalism case was reported at Lynnfield High School – eight signs were reportedly pulled out of the ground and a truck tire was rolled onto the athletic field.
At 10:47 a.m., a burglar alarm activated on Perkins Lane. Police found an open door, but the inside was ok.
At11:03 a.m., a police took a burning complaint from Summer Street.
At 11:39 a.m., a burglar alarm went off on Huntingdon Road.
At 12:54 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Cortland Lane.
At 3:26 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Prospect Ave. The building was secure.
At 4:30 p.m., a Freeman Street resident called to complain of commercial vehicles being parked overnight on the street.
At 8:47 p.m., a Grey Lane resident reported a large group of youths hanging around in the area. They were gone when police arrived.
At 9:27 p.m., a Canterbury Road resident reported a suspicious vehicle. The car contained local youths, who were sent on their way.
At 10:41 p.m., a caller reported that a motor vehicle had driven onto the golf course and parked by the Colonial Pro Shop.

On Friday, April 22 at 2:40 a.m., police arrested Thomas Chiasson, 40, of Haverhill, for OUI 2nd offense, having an open container in the vehicle, and for a marked lanes violation.
At 7 a.m., police assisted a citizen with a vehicle lockout.
At 7:58 a.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Tedford Lane. The window was smashed and a makeup bag was stolen.
At 8:41 a.m., a caller reported a possible case of bank fraud.
At 1:51 p.m., police took a report involving a larceny.
At 5:08 p.m., a burning complaint was received from Heritage Lane.
At 5:35 p.m., a motor vehicle break-in was reported on Edward Ave.
At 5:54 p.m., the Ninety-Nine restaurant reported a disorderly female bar patron, who was brought to the police station.
At 8:15 p.m., an Ashley Road resident reported someone running through a neighbor's yard.

On Saturday, April 23 at 12:12 a.m., police performed a well-being check on Herrick Lane.
At 1:45 a.m., police investigated a burglar alarm at Eastern Bank.
At 6:37 a.m., police issued a summons to Juan A. Diaz, 22, of Lynn for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and for driving an unregistered vehicle. Police also issued a summons to Mararito Diaz-Almeida, 26, of Lynn for improper operation of a motor vehicle and for having an unregistered vehicle.
At 7:17 a.m., police issued a summons to Gilberto Lopez, 28, of Lynn for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation. Police also issued a summons to Siriaco Chaves, 28 for improper operation of a motor vehicle.
At 8:43 a.m., a caller reported fireworks that had been shot off near Saunders Road the previous  night around midnight.
At 5:03 p.m., police responded to a burglar alarm on Salem Street.
At 9:11 p.m., a Lara Lane resident reported a large group of youths gathered in the area.
At 10:22 p.m., a Saunders Road resident called about vehicles that were parked on the street. Police determined they were there legally.
At 10:30 p.m., police cleared a group of juveniles from behind the Center Stores.
At 11:53 p.m., police arrested Christian Helmut Gfatter, 45, of Chicago, Ill. For leaving the scene of personal injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The arrest came after a road rage incident with another driver.

On Sunday, April 24 at 6:39 a.m., a Laurel Road resident reported that cans and bottles have been left in the road the past several weekends.
At 7:45 a.m., a Locksley Road resident reported seeing a black bear. Animal control was notified.
At 12:12  and 12:16 p.m., police responded to burglar alarm activations.
At 4:58 p.m., police checked on a youth who was reported to be sitting on the dam at Summer Street.
At 6:11 p.m., a burglar alarm was accidentally set off by a house watcher.
At 7:17 p.m., a child on Richards Road dialed 911.
