Lynnfield Selectmen read a proclamation at this week's meeting honoring retired Fire Chief Joseph Lingel for his 44 years of service with the town fire department.
Last month, selectmen voted to hire Mark Tetreault, chief of the Barnstead, NH fire department, to become the new Lynnfield Fire Chief. At the time, town officials indicated that Tetreault could be on the job in Lynnfield as soon as mid-January pending contract negotiations.
