Safety Officials Provide Further Details On Drowning

911 call came in at 7:50 p.m. Monday night

The following is a statement from the Lynnfield Police Department:

The Town of Lynnfield is mourning the loss of one of its own. On Monday, July, 4, 2011, Sidney Vinci, a four year old female resident of Lynnfield, was celebrating the Fourth of July at a friend's house located at 7 North Hill Drive with approximately 12 other people.

She was found face down in a swimming pool at about 7:50 p.m. She was immediately removed from the pool and CPR was performed by a family member.

A 911 call came into the Lynnfield Police Department. Police and rescue units from the Lynnfield Fire Department were dispatched.

Officer Bryan Materazzo was first to arrive and took over CPR. The victim was transported to Union Hospital. Efforts to save her life there were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead.
