Reverse 911 System Off To Good Start

Town tested new safety alert system last weekend.

The reports that the town's new Reverse 911 system is off to a successful start.

Last weekend, town safety officials ran a test that reached thousands of homes in a matter of minutes – about 1,000 calls a minute.

The test reportedly reached about 85 percent of the town's phones. Town residents have also continued to update or provide their contact information via a link on the town's website.

 "We are very happy about the results," said Lynnfield Fire Chief Tom Bogart.
