Police Warn Of Medicare Phone Scam

Lynnfield Police are warning town residents of a recent scam where people claiming to be from Medicare or the Social Security Administration are calling and asking for personal information.

In a recent alert on their Nixle account, Lynnfield Police reminded town residents that if they receive such a call, to not provide such information. Employees of these administrations would never make an unsolicited call, nor would they ever ask for any personal information, such as Social Security numbers.

Residents are also reminded that Medicare cards are free and are provided by the Social Security Administration when an individual becomes eligible for Medicare.
