Police Called After Employee Storms Out

responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, May 2 and Thursday, May 3.

On Wednesday, May 2 at 7:21 a.m., a caller reported that somebody was handing something out to students at the crosswalk in front of the middle school. It turned out that teachers were distributing pencils as part of Walk To School Day.
At 1:53 p.m., caller at informed police of a stolen cell phone.
At 5:27 p.m., an Ivanhoe Drive resident reported a suspicious van in front of his house. It was gone on arrival.
At 11:58 p.m., police took a call from the involving an incident in which an employee initially had a minor verbal altercation with another worker, and then proceeded to have another altercation with managers and employees before storming out. Extra patrols were requested.

On Thursday, May 3 at 7:55 a.m., an accident with no injury was reported on Salem Street.
At 9:04 a.m., police assisted with a civil matter on Summer Street.
At 5:13 p.m., police investigated a 911 hangup.
At 8:16 p.m., a caller reported two people in a van on Main Street driving very slowly and apparently throwing something out the window and crossing the yellow line. Wakefield Police were also notified.
