Jim Alexander from the Lynnfield Fire Department was a special guest this week at the library for National Fire Prevention Week. Alexander read a nonfiction book about fire safety, plus a story about a firehouse dog. He also gave out firehats and bookmarks to the kids.

"It was a nice opportunity for the Library to partner with the Fire Department to get important safety messages to as many kids as possible," said Laura Bruynell, head of youth services at the Lynnfield Library.
