Lynnfield Police Cracking Down On Speeding This Year

Department reports more than 900 traffic stops made in town so far in 2011.

The recently reported that the number of traffic stops for speeding has increased significantly in 2011 compared to last year.

According to Police Chief David Breen, between January 1st and September 25th, 2011, police made 903 traffic stops in town – 207 of them on Main Street.

At this point in 2010, police reported 475 traffic stops, 103 of them on Main Street. These numbers include a mix of verbal warnings, written warnings and civil charges that resulted from the traffic stops.
