The Item reports that an officer told Caron he couldn't drive down Washington Street, which was still closed to traffic around 7:45 p.m. as firefighters dealt with the MBTA bus, but Caron then sped through anyway, driving over fire hoses and causing officers and firefighters to jump out of the way to avoid the car. One officer, however, did get clipped with the driver's side mirror.

Police were able to stop Caron a short while later and determined he was intoxicated. He is scheduled to appear in Peabody District Court on Monday, reports the Item.
