Guns Found In Trash Turn Out Harmless

Lynnfield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, September 25 and Thursday, September 26.

On Wednesday September 25 at 1:59 p.m., a driver reported being rear-ended on Walnut Street. An officer found no damage on either vehicle.
At 3:20 p.m. a woman reported that somebody appeared to be trying to break into a vehicle outside of the Whole Foods. The individual checked out OK.
At 4 p.m. police took a fraud report.
At 5:05 p.m. a possibly drunk man was reported in the roadway near Walnut Street. Police gave him a ride home.
At 5:05 p.m. police took a report involving a custody dispute.

On Thursday, September 26 at 8:36 a.m., a disabled auto was reported on Condon Circle.
At 9:39 a.m. a trash truck operator on Summer Street reported finding what appeared to be two discarded guns in the trash. Further investigation found that they were unusable air guns.
At 11:09 a.m. an erratic operator was reported on Condon Circle.
At 7:27 a.m. on Friday, September 26, the fire department responded to a report of a truck on fire on Fernway.
