Canine Check Finds No Contraband In Town Schools

Ten canine units were at middle school and high school checking for illegal contraband as part of joint effort between police and school department.

The folliowing is an announcement from Lynnfield Police Chief David Breen:

A health and wellness check was performed today at the Lynnfield Middle School and Lynnfield High School with the assistance of ten canine units. I am pleased to report that in both schools no illegal contraband was detected. This exercise was done as a joint effort between The Lynnfield Police Department and The Lynnfield School Department.

Several law enforcement agencies also participated in the school check at no cost to the town of Lynnfield. Chief Breen would like to thank Superintendent Jefferson and members of the school department for their commitment to keeping the schools safe. He also appreciates the efforts of officers from the Essex County Sheriffs Department, Middlesex County Sheriffs Department, Saugus Police Department, Revere Police Department, and Medford Police Department for assisting us with their canine units.
