Burglars Make Off With $2,000 Flat Screen TV, Laptop
The following information was supplied by the Lynnfield police department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
responded to these and other calls for service on Wednesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 11:
On Wednesday, August 10 at 1:28 a.m., police received a report that a motorist was stuck in water under the 128 bridge as a result of the day's heavy downpour. The motorist was gone on arrival.
At 2:13 a.m., police assisted a motorist who was stranded under the same bridge in the water. The car was towed and cones were placed in the road lane.
At 2:35 a.m., a suspicious car was reported to be sitting in a woman's driveway on South Broadway. It turned out to be a motorist who ran out of gas and who was waiting for roadside assistance, which soon arrived.
At 4:36 a.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported near the Lynnfield Common. A light pole was cracked, but there was no personal injury.
At 6:50 a.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on South Broadway.
At 7:14 a.m., police were informed of a large limb on the wires near Glen Drive.
At 11:30 a.m., police received a report of wires down on Apple Hill Lane.
At 12:17 p.m., a citizen reported an incident of fraudulent bank account activity.
At 12:29 p.m., police and fire personnel responded to a fire alarm at Lynnfield High School. It turned out a worker had broken a sprinkler head.
At 12:37 p.m., a suspcious auto was reported to be running in the parking lot of First Data on South Broadway. It turned out to belong to an employee.
At 2:17 p.m., Police received a report of stolen lottery tickets from the Lynnfield Exxon on South Broadway.
At 3:07 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Salem Street.
At 3:50 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Lynnfield Street.
At 5:53 p.m., police were informed of youths climbing on the roof at Huckleberry Hill School. A custodian provided the name of one youth and police were planning to speak to parents.
At 6:44 p.m., police issued a summons to a 33-year-old Lynn woman for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 7:35 p.m., a motor vehicle accident was reported on North Broadway.
At 7:37 p.m., a burglar alarm went off at Bridgewell on North Broadway Street. The building was secure.
At 9:21 p.m., police received a report of youths trespassing at Huckleberry Hill School.
At 10:06 p.m., a Saunders Road resident called about a car driving up and down the street.
At 11:11 p.m., a Lowell Street resident reported a motor vehicle running for several hours nearby, with an occupant inside. Police set out to perform a well-being check and learned it was a neighbor who was listening to the ball game in his car.
On Thursday, August 11 at 1:21 a.m., a Windsor Road resident called to report her son had received a threat on his cell phone. Police reviewed the message and determined there was no threat.
At 1:48 a.m., police issued a summons to a 21-year-old Nahant man for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, attaching plates, speeding, and a marked lanes violation.
At 10 a.m., a Winchester Road resident called about a number of construction vehicles parked on the street. Police determined there was enough room for emergency vehicles to get through.
At 10:50 a.m., an old large TV with a stand was reported to be dropped at the end of Hidden Valley Road.
At 2:45 p.m., a burglar alarm went off on Standish Road.
At 3:02 p.m., a Green Street resident reported an animal, possibly sick, was in her trash barrel. Animal control was notified.
At 4:26 p.m., a burglary was reported on Lowell Street. A flat screen TV worth $2,000, jewelry, and a $1,000 laptop were among the things reported stolen.
At 6:17 p.m., a burglary was reported on Main Street. Stolen items included an MP3 player and two Bose speaker units.
At 10:52 p.m., a disabled auto was reported on South Broadway.
