A fire reported at the Lynnfield Commons apartments was quickly extinguished by the building's sprinkler system, according to scanner reports.

Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Lynnfield Fire Department personnel responded to the apartment building off Route 1 north for a report of a fire in a fourth floor bathroom. North Reading provided mutual aid with its ladder truck, while Wakefield provided coverage at the Lynnfield station.

The fire did not have a chance to spread as it was reportedly soon extinguished by the sprinkler system.

Really???? as told to me from an undisputed source, it was MAJOR damage to all 3 floors from smoke fire and water, all resulting from the tenants drug lab. What are you hiding? Why the hush-hush? Do you think the truth will be squashed? Illegal drugs have been mailed via the USPS to that complex. And now we are having a public hearing next wednesday 4/24/13 at 8pm to see if the town will vote an amendment for the "temporary" moratorium for medical marijuana treatment center" (in part) that wil acquire, cultivate, posess, process, into food (haha, "Brownies"?) tinctures and transfers sells distributes administers marijuana, ect... to qualifying patients or their caregivers.. (Please see Lynnfield Villager issued April 10 page 17, lower right hand corner.) OMG REALLY??? Meth Labs, Pot Labs, the once proposed upscale yet quaint shopping center in "Affluent Lynnfield" Do you realize the LAUGHING STOCK the Town of Lynnfield has become to soooo many outside communities?? We are a joke!!! I am embarrased to say where I live as the remarks are with smirks, cat calls and "oh yeah, (ahem, cough, cough)heard about that place." Dear New Selectman, Please, put us right! Lynnfield Residents, let us take our heads out of the sand!! Stop sheltering ourselves! This is reality and SHAME ON THOSE WHO SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG!!
