Annual Fire Apparatus Parade Is Saturday

Parade starts 10 a.m. from Lynnfield High School

The Lynnfield Fire Department recently announced that the Massachusetts Antique Fire Apparatus Association (MAFAA) will hold their 34th Annual Fire Truck Parade and Fire-matic Flea Market on Saturday, June 11.

The Flea Market will be held at Edgewater Park located at 400 Audubon Road in Wakefield.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. from Lynnfield High School located on Essex Street. Additionally there will be a flea market that will be open at 9 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

According to the MAFAA, the parade is static display and of over 70 modern and antique fire apparatus vehicles. Some fire engines will participate in pumping demonstrations, while vendors will be selling fire related memorabilia and antiques, food and drinks. Sanitary stations available on site.

The MAFAA states absolutely no dogs, bikes, rollerblades or skateboards will be permitted on premises due to insurance prohibitions. Free parking and free admission.

Fire Chief Thomas Bogart commented, “The annual fire truck parade is a great event for all ages put on by the MAFAA. In addition to the parade and flea market, attendee’s can contribute to the Muscular dystrophy boot collection, as well as learn about fire safety at the S.A.F.E (Student Awareness of Fire Education) booth that will be located in the front of the flea market. Myself and the Department look forward to seeing you there.”
