LOLCR Cat of the Week: Angel - She Needs an Angel

LOLCR Cat of the Week: Angel - She Needs an Angel

Miss Angel is one of the most affectionate cats we've had the pleasure of fostering. We believe she is around six years old.

She was found wandering in a backyard, starving. When a kind soul found her, she came screaming to them. She desperately wanted to be rescued. Angel has all the personality that anyone would want in cat, a total purring lap cat. She is outgoing, enjoys being picked up, loves to be patted and brushed. When you walk into the room, this little love comes up to you, talking. She looks to be a Tortoiseshell/Abyssinian mix, with short black and gold fur and gold eyes. And when your eyes connect, she will melt your heart.

Angel has done well with other cats she has met. She is gentle and submissive and is not the bossy type at all. So far, she has met small dogs and she is cautious but no hissing. Angel has good litter box manners, no issues there. Angel likes to play with her cat toys and loves when the foster mom engages in play with a cat wand. She has a hyperactive thyroid that is easily managed with an inexpensive medication. Angel also has what is believed to be a neurological condition known as Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), sometimes called wobbly kitty syndrome. Angel gets around just fine once she is used to her surroundings, however if she jumps down from a high place, she might fall over, but she will get right back up. CH does not affect her long term health and requires nothing other than perhaps a small stairway up to a high place such as a bed or a couch, which she manages well. The stairs help her with coordination. Normally, cats with CH are euthanized due to misunderstanding of the condition. If the adopting or fostering family is willing to work with one of our vets, LOLCR will be able to offer assistance.
