Join in on this family friendly 5K (3.1 mile) walk and run to support the New England Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. The run/walk around scenic Lake Quannapowitt has raised over $100,000 for two cancer related charities. The event features a certified course, professional chip timing and even separate starts for runners and walkers.

Why Go: Get ready to catch some fish! Bring your own rod, bait and bucket. There will be free lunch for participants and a free embroidered hat for the first 75 to register at the event. You could even win a trophy for best catch of the day!

Why Go: Looking for some live music this weekend? Bring your beach chairs and a picnic and enjoy the Lowell Philharmonic while they perform light classical, 'pops', and patriotic favorites. The concert is rain or shine, and very popular, so arrive early!

Why Go: Do you love yard sales? This family is moving and looking to get rid of some things. There will be toys, books, clothes, and household items for sale, and maybe even some unknown treasures.

Why Go: If you are looking for a break from the summer heat, head over to Stoneham Arena for some ice skating. Skate rentals are not available, so be sure to bring your own. It will be worth it to beat the heat.
