Get Out: Go Fishing or Even Ice Skating This Weekend

Here are some fun weekend activities in and around Lynnfield.

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Lynnfield Patch has got you covered. 

You could get some exercise and support a good cause, go fishing, see a concert... or even go ice skating.

1.

When/Where: 100 Quannapowitt Pkwy, Wakefield, Sunday, 8:30am–10:00am.

Why Go: If you're looking to get outside this weekend, you should take on the Wakefield Lake. Join in on this family friendly 5K (3.1 mile) walk and run to support the New England Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. The run/walk around scenic Lake Quannapowitt has raised over $100,000 for two cancer related charities. The event features a certified course, professional chip timing and even separate starts for runners and walkers.

When/Where: , 61 Burroughs Rd, North Reading, Saturday, 8:00am–11:00am.

Why Go: Get ready to catch some fish! Bring your own rod, bait and bucket. There will be free lunch for participants and a free embroidered hat for the first 75 to register at the event. You could even win a trophy for best catch of the day!

When/Where: 433 Rogers St, Lowell, MA, Sunday, 3:00pm–5:00pm

Why Go: Looking for some live music this weekend? Bring your beach chairs and a picnic and enjoy the Lowell Philharmonic while they perform light classical, 'pops', and patriotic favorites. The concert is rain or shine, and very popular, so arrive early!   

Pricing: Free.

When/Where: 11 Lee St, Stoneham, Saturday, 8:00am–3:00pm.

Why Go: Do you love yard sales? This family is moving and looking to get rid of some things. There will be  toys, books, clothes, and household items for sale, and maybe even some unknown treasures.

Pricing: Free, unless you buy stuff!

When/Where: 101 Montvale Ave, Stoneham, Sunday, 4:00pm–5:50pm.

Why Go: If you are looking for a break from the summer heat, head over to Stoneham Arena for some ice skating. Skate rentals are not available, so be sure to bring your own. It will be worth it to beat the heat.

Pricing: $4; $3 children 16 and under.
