Obituary: Scott Douglas Zarella, 44

Reading resident was a tennis instructor at Boston Sports Club in Lynnfield. Service is today at noon.

Zarella, Scott Douglas, 44 - of Reading, April 18, surrounded by his family.  Beloved son of Anthony and Diane (Douglas) of Plymouth.  Devoted brother of Lisa Masse and her husband Scott of Wrentham and Keri Gallucci and her husband Andrew of Lynnfield.   Loving uncle to Jessica Leslie; Lauren; Emma Gallucci; Kelly, Courtney and Kristen Masse.  Grandson of Ann Zarella of North Reading.  Scott is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott attended Reading Memorial High class of 1987 and remained a Reading resident unit Nov. 2012.  Scott in recent years was a Tennis Instructor at Boston Sports Club in Lynnfield where he was passionate about making a difference in the lives of his students.  He enjoyed teaching children and adults at all levels.  He was always enthusiastic and encouraging about helping his students reach their goals by bringing entertainment and humor to his lessons.  Scott previously worked for Dynamics in Woburn and held a CDL license.  He loved the outdoors and was an avid sports enthusiast enjoying tennis, golf, snowboarding and hiking.  Scott will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial service with be held for Scott in the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., NORTH READING on Tuesday, April 23 at 12pm.  Relatives and friends my visit with the family prior to the service from 10am to 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Scott’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and It's Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place, West, Sixth Floor, Boston, MA 02445.
