Obituary: Florence Mary Black, 86

Was longtime 2nd and 3rd grade teacher at Huckleberry Hill School.

Florence Mary Black, 86, a 54 - year resident of Winchester, passed away on Nov. 25, 2013 at Winchester Nursing Center following a short battle with bone cancer. Born in Medford, MA on June 23, 1927, Mary, as she was commonly known to her many friends, was the daughter of the late Stanley B. and Argerie (Zanidakis) Black. She graduated from Medford High School and Boston University with a B.S. and M.S. in education. Mary was a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher at the Huckleberry School in the Lynnfield public school system for thirty-four years, She never married and considered all her pupils as her children. Mary leaves behind a brother, John Black, of Denver, Colorado, and a cousin, John Zannidachis of San Antonio, TX.
