Obituary: Dorothy May Dilts, 92

Former Lynnfield resident was longtime member of Centre Congregational Church.

Mrs. Dorothy May Dilts, 92, formerly of Lynnfield, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Freedom Village in West Brandywine, PA.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ira, J. Dilts who passed away in 1998.  She was also predeceased by her sister, Florence Parr of Fort Collins, Colorado, and her brother, Harold Parr of Lakewood, Colorado.

Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Frank Parr and Elizabeth T. Parr.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, birding, flower arranging, cooking and the times she spent with her family, grandson, and great-grandchildren.

She was a long standing member of the Centre Congregational Church, and a member of the women’s church guild.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Diane Dilts Oliver, who is married to Michael Oliver, one grandchild, Douglas D. Oliver, and two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Bryce.  She is also survived by two nieces and one nephew.

Services will be held at the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be private and held at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Lynnfield.

Arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtown, PA.
