Obituary: Arthur W. Kilroy, 76

Kilroy was treatment plant operator and call firefighter in Lynnfield for 25 years, and an Army Korean War veteran.

Arthur W. Kilroy, 76, of Lynnfield died on Thursday, March 28 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers,

Born in Boston on November 5, 1936, he was the son of the late Arthur G. and Bertille C. (Simard) Kilroy.

He was a treatment plant operator at the Lynnfield Center Water District for 25 years and was also a call firefighter for the Town of Lynnfield for 25 years. During the Korean Conflict he served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Kilroy was a member of the Masons, the Firefighter Square Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Disabled Veterans and the Lynn Militia.

Mr. Kilroy was the husband of Carol L. (Fraser) Kilroy. He was the father of Sean M. Kilroy and his wife Bethany of Lynnfield and the late Colleen T. Kilroy. He was the brother of Michael R. Kilroy and Robert H. Kilroy, both of Florida, Elizabeth F. Ward and the late Paul G. Kilroy, Andrea J. Kilroy and Rosemary Kilroy. He was the grandfather of Mitchell Rodriguez, Aidan, Sean Jr., and Nicholas Kilroy.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday, April 5 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Maria Goretti, Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
