Obituary: Anthony J. LeDonne, 94

Longtime Lynnfield resident was a WWII Army veteran and an usher at St. Maria Goretti Church.

Anthony J. LeDonne, 94, of Lynnfield died on Saturday, February 9 at his residence. Born in Boston on August 22, 1918, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lucia (Conti) LeDonne. Mr. LeDonne was a graduate of Revere High School and had attended Boston University. He had been a Lynnfield residence for 55 years. Mr. LeDonne retired in 1983 from W.R. Grace in Woburn. He was past treasurer for the Scleroderma Foundation N.E. Chapter and was an usher for St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield for many years. Mr. LeDonne served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an avid Boston sports fan and reader. Mr. LeDonne spent his winters in Naples, Florida and enjoyed his daily walks and playing Bocce. He was the husband of Kathleen (Curran) LeDonne and the late Teresa (Puzo) LeDonne. Mr. LeDonne was the father of Elaine M. Mead and her husband Frank C. of Melrose, Janice Clare Smith of North Reading and the late Richard J. LeDonne. He was the grandfather of Caitlyn S. Mead of Somerville and Richard C. Mead of the North End. Mr. LeDonne is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
