Mass Dems Deliver Medicare "Voucher" to Tisei for his Birthday

Mass Dems has issued Tisei a Medicare "Voucher," to remind him that the important safety net will be eliminated if the Tisei-backed Ryan Plan is enacted.

Tisei will receive first voucher in 6th District

BOSTON – As Republican congressional candidate Richard Tisei celebrates a birthday putting him one year closer to Medicare eligibility age, the Massachusetts Democratic Party has issued the failed Lt. Gov. Candidate a Tisei-Ryan Medicare “Voucher,” to remind him that the important safety net will be eliminated if the Tisei-backed Ryan Plan is enacted.

"If Republicans Richard Tisei and Paul Ryan get their way, the Medicare program that we know and trust will cease to exist and our seniors will be left with vouchers just like this that won’t cover the cost of the services they depend on," said Massachusetts Democratic Party Chair John Walsh.

Tisei has been a cheerleader for the Ryan Plan and thinks the budget that will end Medicare, gut Social Security, and raise taxes on the middle class is "a good start. Tisei has also refused to pledge to protect Medicare. [4/23/12, Newburyport News]

The failed Lt. Gov. candidate has taken $7,500 from Republican Paul Ryan's PAC and Ryan's “Young Guns” super PAC will be spending $900,000 to run ads benefiting Tisei's campaign.

“The bottom line is, if he is elected, Tisei will support the Republican leadership in Congress that will ram through the Ryan Plan at all costs,” Walsh added.
