LYSC Set To Begin The Spring '12 Season

The Spring 2012 season is about to begin for the Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club!

The sun is shining this Passover and Easter weekend and we hope that the bright sunny weather continues to next weekend when our Lynnfield Youth Soccer Club begins again with games on Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th.  This season, almost 650 Lynnfield kids have signed up for soccer and they range in age from 5 to 18. Our U6 program is filled with young boys and girls that are just starting to learn the game while our U18 young men and women continue to play the game that they have come to enjoy.

All of LYSC's teams depend on volunteer coaches and the U6 and U8 coaches kicked off the season last weekend with a Coaches' Meeting held at the Summer Street School.  It was a great way to get acquainted and get organized and even though we had to dodge a few snowflakes, we were able to prepare for the coming season.

In addition to our volunteer coaches, LYSC partners with the Revolution Academy, which is affiliated with the New England Revolution.  The instructors assist our coaches, lead practices for our U8 and U10 teams and help reinforce skills and develop mastery of the ball.  They are a fantastic resource and LYSC is pleased to have them in the program.  Stay tuned for notices about events with the Revolution!

Our Opening Day for U6 and U8 is on Sunday 4/15 and if you would like to find out more about the program, visit www.lynnfieldsoccer.com.  Registration is still open (although you will pay a late fee at this point) only for U6 and U8 teams and you can even walk up next Sunday if you can't get online.

Best of luck to all the LYSC teams next weekend and let the games begin!
