Then And Now: Executive Park At Lynnfield
From time to time, Lynnfield Patch runs a photo scanned from the files of the Lynnfield Historical Commission and compares it to what's there now.
In the latest version of Then And Now, we look back to the former Executive Park at Lynnfield plaza. This photo appears to be from the early to mid 1960s and one of the few business names you can see listed on the sign outside the plaza is the Lynnfield Villager.
So, this photo was found in a file that had a label bearing the name "Kernwood Restaurant." That large building toward the back could pass for a restaurant, but that's all guess work from this end.
What I do know is that a web search of the Kernwood Restaurant brings up an address of 55 Salem Street for the former Lynnfield business. Today, 55 Salem Street is the location of Sunrise Senior Living. However, Sunrise is home to a historical marker noting that in the 1930s and 1940s, until it was razed in 1963.
