Then And Now: A Cartoonist Came To Town

Each week, Lynnfield Patch runs a photo from the files of the Lynnfield Historical Society and compares it to what's there today.

Back in 1976, a well-known political cartoonist named Paul Szep came to speak to a packed house at the Lynnfield Library. This particular image appears to have run in the Lynn Daily Item in January of that year. A Wikipedia page for Szep says he was a Canadian who won two Pulitzer prizes and who was the Boston Globe's Chief Editorial Cartoonist from 1967 to 2001.
