PHOTOS: Lynnfield's Newest Eagle Scouts

On Sunday, Troop 48 held court of honor for new Eagle Scouts Daniel Braconnier, Cameron Drugan, Jacob Kochocki, and Michael Welter.

In a history spanning more than five decades, Lynnfield's Boy Scout Troop 48 has now seen more than 100 young men attain the rank of Eagle Scout.

On Sunday, Daniel Braconnier, Cameron Drugan, Jacob Kochocki and Michael Welter became Lynnfield's newest members of this select group, which nationwide accounts for under 3 percent of all scouts.

Fellow scouts and scouting officials joined parents and others at Centre Congregational Church for the eagle court of honor. House Republican Leader Brad Jones and State Rep. Donald Wong were on hand with citations from their house and senate colleagues. Selectman Al Merritt presented the four with a proclamation from the town in honor of their achievements.

"It's a great week for scouting here in Lynnfield and a great day," said Jones, recalling how he had been in town .

Scoutmaster Gordon Forrest noted that the four new Eagle Scouts had put in more than 2,000 community service hours on their way to the honor. For his service project, Cameron Drugan , setting up a dozen collection sites that generated more than $6,500 worth of items.

Eagle Scout can be seen at the Partridge Island Boardwalk in the form of the the various plant and animals found in the area.

Daniel Braconnier designed and installed the prayer garden at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Lynnfield, while also doing a cleanup of the grounds. Jacob Kochocki's service project was to create a map of the trees on the town common, with data such as diameter, health and species.
