Library Announces Expanded Hours

Library officials respond to results from recent community survey.

The following is an announcement from the Lynnfield Library:

Participants of the Community Survey that was part of our Long Range Plan initiative indicated a serious need for expanded library hours – some combination of week day evenings and/or on weekends. The Board of Trustees’ members made this a priority for upcoming FY2013. Our new hours will take effect in May and in June. Effective Tuesday, May 1, 2012, the library will increase its evening hours from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday through Thursday. Friday hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) will remain the same.

As part of the second phase of our new schedule, we will be closed on Saturday, May 26 for the Memorial Day weekend, July 7 (4th of July holiday) and September 1, 2012 (Labor Day). On Saturday, June 2, 2012 we will open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the summer with the exception of the above mentioned Saturdays. Our regular fall / winter Saturday scheduled hours of 9 am to 5 pm will resume on September 8, 2012. This expansion in library hours will be funded through our State Aid to Public Library Award and not with any Town appropriation funding. We look forward to seeing more of you in the library from now on!
