Brave the Grey Tabby is Jealous of his Brother Blackie Who Was Featured Last Week

Thanks to Abby Zanger of PAWS (Protection of Animals in Wakefield Society) for providing this weekly column on local pets available for adoption.

Brave Reminds You That He is Available for Adoption, Too

Can you imagine?  I am so upset.  Last week, Blackie wrote about himself and his sister, Marieke.  Well, she may be his sister.  But she is also my sister.  And he is my brother!  But does he mention me?  Not once!

I think that that brother of mine wanted all the attention for himself.  I think he knew that if you found out about me, you might choose me over him.  I am definitely better than he is.  Or maybe he is still angry about the time I kicked him while we were trying to get milk from our mom.  Ok, so we have a little sibling rivalry.

Brothers are like that.  But truth be told, I am not really the dominant one in my litter.  They gave me the name Brave, but I can tell you, I am happy to be off the streets (well it was a backyard really) and into a nice cozy PAWS foster home.  Life outside was not for me.  I am more of a snuggler and a lover than a fighter and I don’t like scrambling for meals.  I will take my dinner from a can any day.  And treats, well, who doesn’t love treats?  I am very food motivated so if you know how to clicker train you can probably teach me to do lots of things.  If not, just go on-line and read about it.  We could have fun thinking up tricks and learning them.

So besides eating, I do like to be patted.  Do you notice how all my photo shots are kind of at funny angles?  That is because every time they point a camera at me, I come over to snuggle.  See, I don’t really want to be a movie star.  I just want you to pet me.

My favorite, favorite thing is to sit by you and have you scratch my chin.  I also like to have my belly rubbed.  I wasn’t outside for long, but being away from people has made me love them more…even while it may take me a few minutes to warm up.  I think I am the only cat who can be shaking and snuggling at the same time.  When we meet,  you will see that I am a really loving guy who wants nothing more than to be yours.

I think that covers it.  Did I tell you I am a ten-month-old teenager?  I have a beautiful, grey tabby coat with white bib and paws, and stunning eyes.  I am really quite a handsome fellow, as you can see from my photos.

My goals in life?  Well they are simple.  I want a home, love, food every day, and a soft place to snuggle with you.  I don’t care if you are young or old, male or female, married or single.  Have kids?  I can work that out.  And I don’t mind other cats as long as they are gentle and not aggressive.  Don’t have other kids?  Well, you could always adopt me with my brother or sister.  I am just saying that you don’t really have to choose between us.  Or, I could be your one and only.  I am definitely a wonderful enough cat to keep you happy forever.

Whoever you are, I am certain you could keep me happy forever.  So, call PAWS now and let’s meet.  I know we are a perfect match.
