Books, DVDs, CDs Sought For Annual Library Sale

Annual Friends of the Lynnfield Library book sale fundraiser is May 19 at Geraniumfest on Town Common.

The following is an announcement from the Friends of the Lynnfield Library:

If the good weather has given you an early start on your spring cleaning, don't neglect your book shelves! The Friends of the Lynnfield Library is seeking used books for its spring sale during Geraniumfest, May 19. The Friends are asking for donations of adult, children and young adult hardcover books and paperbacks, music CDs and DVDs for this annual spring event.

Boxed or bagged donations may be left at the circulation desk or in the library foyer or in the large blue container located at the base of the library entrance ramp. The library is accepting donations of gently used books right up until the sale.

If dropping off the books isn't possible for you, we're continuing to offer home pick-ups. Anyone with books, paperbacks, music CDs, or DVDs to donate, can call Friends’ board member Alexis Gilbode at 781.608.4179 to arrange a time for pick up.   "We are so grateful for these donations. Proceeds from the sale support the library and its programs such as the Summer Reading Program and the Museum Pass Program" said Nancy Ryan, Director of the Lynnfield Library. “Any unsold items will be offered to benefit other local community organizations such as the BKP, an organization that distributes children’s books to libraries in the Philippines. Unsold items from last fall's sale were donated to B Logistics.

Small and large adult paperbacks, nonfiction, hardcover or paperback children's and young adult books are needed. We cannot accept VHS tapes, textbooks, Reader's Digest Condensed collections or magazines.
