Animal Hospital Of Lynnfield To Host Pet Care Clinic

Clinic to be held at St. Joseph's in Wakefield. $10 fee will

The following is an announcement from the Animal Hospital of Lynnfield:

Next Thursday, June 14 from 7 to 9 p.m., The Animal Hospital of Lynnfield will host a pet care clinic and live demonstration focusing on responding to pet emergencies. The clinic will be held at St. Joseph Parish, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield.

Dr. Diana Watkins of the Animal Hospital of Lynnfield will host the clinic, which will focus on some of the most common emergencies that come up for pets. The two hour first aid training event will include education and response techniques, including CPR on dogs, tips for heat stroke, toxins, seizures, dehydration and drowning.

Attendees will learn how to make a home first aid kit for their pet and will learn more about household items that are toxic to them. Other topics will include how to bandage and splint legs, and how to care for a pet while on the way to the emergency room or contacting one’s veterinarian.

Tickets to the clinic are $10, and space is limited to 50 dog and cat owners. Proceeds will go to the Veterinary Scholarship Trust of New England, which provides scholarships for New England-based veterinary students.
