Foreclosure Activity Remained Moderate In Lynnfield In 2012

Foreclosures seen leveling off statewide and in Lynnfield.

Foreclosure activity remained relatively stable in Lynnfield over the past year, according to recent data from the Warren Group.

The company’s latest data found that at the end of December, there had been 20 foreclosure petitions filed in town in 2012, compared to 12 in 2011. There were two foreclosure petitions in Lynnfield in December, 2012, compared to zero for that month in 2011.

Still, other foreclosure activity remained modest in Lynnfield. There were seven foreclosure auctions in town last year, compared to four the year before. Foreclosure deeds, the final stage of the foreclosure process, actually fell from 10 in 2011 to 4 in 2012.

"Foreclosures have been trending down for several years now. A robust real estate market will ensure that this trend continues in 2013,” said Timothy Warren, CEO of the Warren Group.

Statewide, completed foreclosures fell 13% from 2011 to 2012.
