This Sunday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 p.m., members of the clergy in Lynnfield will join local residents in an ecumenical Thanksgiving service to be held at the Centre Congregational Church.

The following is an announcement from the Greater Lynnfield Clergy Association about the event:

The “Greater” Lynnfield Clergy Association is pleased to invite the greater Lynnfield Community to attend an Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service in which we will give thanks to God for our abundant blessings, pray for the people and places in need in our world, and celebrate our opportunities to join together in the worship of God and our Lord.

We welcome preacher, the Rev. Joel Anderle, Pastor of the Community Covenant Church, 33 Lake St., Peabody, Massachusetts.

We welcome, Alyse Barbash, Director of Haven from Hunger, Peabody, MA, who will receive the offerings of money and non-perishable goods in support of their weekly food pantry and dinner service programs.  (www.havenfromhunger.org).

An ecumenical choir, directed by Mr. Douglas Hodgkins, will also provide music, along with Rev. Glenn and Elizabeth Mortimer, who will offer a Prelude of oboe and violin.

Such a service is one way to show our spirit of cooperation, understanding, tolerance, and support of our respective spiritual communities locally and throughout the world.
