That's Sylvester, but not Stallone

Sylvester is all lover, not an ounce of fighter in him

Sylvester Is a Lover, Not a Fighter

My name is Sylvester, but my last name is Reed, not Stallone.  While I think I have the charisma of a movie star, I would rather be the lead in a romantic comedy, not a bang ‘em up fighter flick like Rambo or Rocky.  I have the green eyes of a leading man so while I admit I look tough, at heart I am a lover, not a fighter.  Actually, that is an understatement.  I am a four-year-old fuzzy cuddle guy who wants nothing more than to be with you.

I honestly can’t tell you how I ended up on the streets of Wakefield, but I know I am so glad to be off of them and in a warm comfortable home with humans.  I love humans.  I love their company, their conversations, to which I am a huge contributor, and of course their warm human laps.  I enjoy neck, head and chin scratches and I love to give head butts, although my foster mom says they would put a professional wrestler to shame.  I guess I am a little over enthusiastic, but I want to make my meaning clear that I am grateful for being rescued.

It’s been wonderful here at my foster home, but I know it’s only a brief stopover until my perfect forever family can be found.  I would love to find a family that could provide companionship and love.  I am happy to share you with other cats.  Or, I could be your one and only.

If I am your only cat and you work, don’t worry.  I can take care of myself most times.  Of course when you are home I want to be with you and let you know how much you are loved and appreciated.  I want to tell you all about my day and hear all about yours, preferably curled up on a comfy chair together.  When I sit on your lap we will have long discussions the way I do with my foster.  She tells me I am “her little love” and I give her a monster head butt and a meow.

I also like to meow at meal times. Well. I do love food.  You no doubt noticed my ears are pretty funny looking and I look like I have seen some boxing matches that did not go my way.  Well I can assure you that is not the case.  Fighting did not give me scrunched ears.  It was from an ear infection I had that was not treated.  I actually think my funny ears make me look roguish, handsome, and very special.  Oh, and no need to worry about my health.  I am entirely healed with no after-effects at all.  It did not even affect my hearing.  I swear I can hear a treat drop three rooms away.  Ok, maybe I am exaggerating.  But, if you drop a treat behind me, I know it immediately.  And I earned an A+ for most cooperative cat when they were giving me medicine.

All that tough life is behind me.  Now it is nothing but soft laps and sun baths for me.  I dream about my new home and you.  So can you step out of my dreams and into my life?  I mean, movies are fun, but real life love stories are my favorite.  Let’s write our own romantic comedy with you and I (and yours) in the starring roles.
