PAWS Pet of the Week: Florence and Naples

Florence and Naples are elegant tiger-striped beauties.

Do you like stripes? I do. I am particularly fond of my beautiful tiger markings and the stripes on my elegantly shaped face. You can see why I was named after one of the most beautiful cities in Italy: Florence. And, wait until you meet my daughter, Naples! Yes, at just over a year old, I’m a young mom with 3 kittens, two of which were recently adopted. Now I am looking for a home for myself and for my little girl.

Naples is a wonderful kitten. She is bright, curious, and playful, with the softest coat you have ever felt and the same elegant tiger look that I have.  She loves people. Pet her, and she will burst into a warm purr. She enjoys interactive toys, like a fishing pole with something on the end, but she can also play by herself for hours. Naples also loves to snuggle into things, going between the covers of the bed or crawling under any blanket she can find. I think she is extra cute when she does these tricks and everyone seems to love her when she rolls over on her back for belly rubs.

It is not surprising Naples is so amazing. She takes after me of course! Well, I am more mature than she is. Having kittens really mellowed me. Balanced is the term they use to describe me.  Sure, I like to chase the occasional catnip mouse, but what I really love is hanging out.  I am easy going and can be very independent, but I am also very people-oriented and will follow you around or share your bed at night, if you’ll let me. But, I prefer not to share my space with other felines, except Naples.

Now that the holidays are here, Naples and I are really hoping to find a family to share this special time of year. If some feline company appeals to you, give us a call. Singly or in a pair, we are the best tigers around.

If you are interested in meeting Florence or Naples or any of our other available kittens and cats, or to learn about volunteer and fostering opportunities, contact PAWS at (781) 246-6111 or PAWSwakefield@yahoo.com.
