BENJAMIN, Reverend Roy

Of Danvers and Ipswich, formerly of Randolph, passed  away peacefully  January 8, 2013 surrounded by his family at the Kaplan Hospice House.  Survived by his childhood sweetheart and beloved wife of 54 years, Sally Benjamin. Devoted father of Roy Benjamin and his wife Nancy of Reading, Peter Benjamin and his wife Linda of Andover, Mark Benjamin and his wife Peggy of Natick, and Jill Barrett and her husband Leo Jr. of Lynnfield.

Rev. Roy is also survived by 12 loving grandchildren who affectionally referred to him as Papa. Rev.Roy was a dedicated loving episcopal parish priest for over 50 years. He served for over 28 years at Trinity Church, Randolph. Rev. Roy also spent time as interim priest-in- charge at Christ Church Hamilton and Wenham, Trinity Church Shelburne Vermont, Trinity Church Portland Connecticut, Pohick Church Lorton Virginia, Saint Francis Great Falls Virginia, Saint Anne's Lowell, and Saint Andrew's Methuen. Roy treasured his summer vacations at Little Neck, Ipswich with his family and friends.

Rev. Roy believed passionately to love and be loved is the most precious gift of life. Parishioners, friends and family are invited to join in a service and celebration of the life of The Rev. Roy Benjamin, Saturday, January 12,  at 11:00a.m. at Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham, 149 Asbury Street, South Hamilton, MA. Those that wish, may make a contribution in Roy's memory to Hospice Of North Shore  or the American Cancer Society.
