Traffic Delays Coming Up: Lynnfield Police Chief David Breen has announced that motorists should expect heavy traffic on Walnut Street at Route 95 starting Monday, April 18 and lasting throughout the week because on ongoing road work. The police will be posting arrow boards to help direct drivers to alternate routes in light of the expected delays.

Noted Anti-Bullying Speaker In Town: Students at will hear from John Halligan, whose 13-year-old son Ryan was driven to suicide by bullies at his middle school in Vermont in 2003. Halligan was a leading force behind Vermont's anti-bullying law in 2004 as well as another 2006 law involving suicide prevention education in public schools.

LHS Sports: Today the varsity and junior varsity baseball teams take on Bedford, with both games at 3:45 p.m. Also at 3:45 p.m., the softball team has a game at North Shore Technical High. The boys lacrosse players are at Georgetown at 4 p.m., while the girls varsity lacrosse team plays Cambridge Rindge and Latin at 4 p.m., with a junior varsity game between the two schools at 5:30 p.m.

American Legion Baseball Signups: Signups for the 2011 Wakefield American Legion baseball team will take place Sunday May 1 at 4 p.m. (rain or shine) at Walsh Field at Wakefield High School . Players living in towns surrounding Wakefield will be eligible for the Wakefield team. The season will begin in early June with 22-26 games running through the end of July. American Legion baseball is the premier league for players 16-19 years old in the state and the cutoff date this season is 1/1/92. No player born in 1991 will be eligible. The cost for the team will be $225 plus one small in-season fundraiser all players will be asked to participate in.
