Mr. O'Malley Wants to Be Your Valentine.

Will You be Mr. O'Malley's Valentine?

Mr. O’Malley Wants to Be Yours on Valentine’s Day and Forever.

Boy, am I ever lucky to be the featured cat this week because Valentine’s Day is coming up and I am going to be your sweetheart.  As those NECCO hearts say: “Sweet Talk” “Love You”  “Be Mine” “4-ever”.

Aren’t I charming?  I am a handsome young boy with short, glossy black hair and a cute bobtail (which makes me and extra special kitty).  True to the bobtail breed, I am playful and very people-oriented.  I am not above demanding your attention with a meow or a tug at your toes.

My name is Mr. O’Malley.  But, please don’t confuse me with the O’Malley the Alley Cat of Disney’s Aristocats!   I don’t “got that wanderlust” nor do I want to “kick up the highway dust.” I’m looking for love and a cozy, indoor life of leisure.  I’d much rather be king of your heart and prince of your boudoir, not “king of the highway … prince of the boulevard.”

Oh yes, I am a friendly guy who especially enjoys being petted and scratched and brushed on my head and cheeks.  Energy-wise, I am very laid back.  When you are not around, I plan to nap the day away, except perhaps when I look out the window.  However, I do get lonely and I hope we can snuggle together at night as I like to be warm and secure.  And, you can be sure that I will be by your side when it’s time to eat.  My foster mom calls me a chow hound.  Really, I am a cat, not a dog, so I do not understand why she says that.

Speaking of dogs, they make me very nervous.  I do like cats, however, and I would not mind a feline friend. We could chase around a few catnip mice and you could dangle strings for us.  In between my naps, that is.  As a growing boy, I need my rest in between sessions of playing and eating.  Maybe we could dine by candle light and then have a game of laser pointer, followed by an evening on the couch watching the fireplace?

So how does that sound?  Am I your type?  Will you “Be Mine” for Valentine’s Day and “4-ever”? I will shower you with kitty kisses for the rest of our lives.  Yes indeed I am a handsome young kitty with lots of great plans for our long term relationship.

Please do not break Mr. O’Malley’s heart.  Make him or any of our other adoptable cats and kittens your Valentine by contacting PAWS at (781) 246-6111 or PAWSwakefield@yahoo.com.  You can also meet many of our available cats at our weekly adoption hours.  Due to the weather, we will not have adoption hours at VCA on Saturday (Feb. 9) or at PetSmart on Friday or Saturday (Feb. 8 and 9).  But beginning Sunday Feb. 10, we should be back to our usual schedule. Our adoption center at the Danvers PetSmart will be holding its usual adoption hours beginning again on Sunday Feb. 10 and continuing every Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. On Saturday Feb. 16th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., we will again be at VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital for our usual adoption hours. We look forward to seeing you there after the storm.
