Minor Snow In Forecast This Weekend

Take away the Halloween snowstorm, and town has only received 2.5 inches of snow this season. A year ago today, that figure stood at 44.5 inches.

With late January getting underway, some semblance of winter weather is finally in the forecast for the Lynnfield area - but it won't amount to much.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for the local area to receive between one and two inches of snow overnight Friday. With a daytime high of only 33 expected, the morning commute could feature icy conditions in some areas.

Saturday's forecast has a 70% chance of precipitation, but any additional snow is expected to fall before 2 p.m., followed by a small chance of another dusting that evening.

Sunday is supposed to be mostly sunny with a high near 36. Flurries will remain in the forecast at times between Friday and Sunday, and there is a chance of rain on Monday, with temperatures expected to once again be well above freezing.
