Lynnfield Senior Center Announces September Activities

These and other activities planned over the coming month.

Note: The following is an announcement from the :

New Intermediate Bridge Lessons:  Millie Ring, ACBL accredited teacher will teach an eight week course beginning Monday, Sept. 12th from 12:-2:30.  Cost for 8-11 players is $10.00 per lesson or $8.00 per person for a group of 12-20 players.  This class will bring you up-to-date on new bidding techniques and conventions.  There will be one hour of lesson followed by one hour in which we will play 4 hands to illustrate the lesson.  Call to sign up 781-598-1078.

Lunch and Travel Log to Ireland, Wales and Scotland:  Travel with Rick Steves as he takes you through Ireland, Wales and Scotland while enjoying a delicious lunch with recipes taken from the region.  Lunch will include Potato and Leek Soup, Sheppard’s Pie, Fresh Carrots with butter and parsley, Scones and more.  Tues, Sept. 20th at 11:30 cost: $5.00 Sign up in the Activity Office.

Health Options for New Retirees: Now that you are turning 65 and possibly retiring are you confused about Medicare and all of the choices you need to make? Come have all of your questions answered by Heather Hurd of Blue Cross/Blue Shield on Thursday, Sept 15th at noon. If you want lunch at 11:30 please sign up by noon the day before for $2.00. Lunch and Lecture: Diabetes Presentation: Learn the six tests every diabetic should get and know their results.  We’ll also discuss home monitoring, diet and nutrition.   Presented by Walgreen’s Pharmacy. Lunch at 11:30 for $2.00. Sign up by noon the day before for lunch of Baked Fish. Thursday, September 29th at 12:30. Sign up at the front desk.

Board certified Family Nurse Practitioner for 22 years, Kathleen Tremblay, FNP-BC , tells us that we are never too old to get our shots and vaccinations. September 22nd at 12:30.
