Lowell Wants to Warm Your Heart and Your Neck

Sweet, Sweet Lowell is Cuddly, Playful, and Loving

Oooh, I like the looks of you.  I do, I do.  My name is Lowell and I am a young, sweet, and very unique looking cat who wants a new home and family.  And I think you might just be the one for me.  Well, to be honest, I have never met a person I did not like.  I am just a very, very, friendly guy. And, a really nice kitty, too.

Maybe you are more picky than I am?  So, let me tell you about myself and then you can decide whether or not we are meant for each other.  (Of course, I am certain you will discover that we are a perfect match, but I am pretending to let you decide—wink, wink.)

I am young and playful.  I love to play, especially when you dangle things for me to chase. I also love to play on my own.  Give me any little ball and I will toss it in the air and chase it all over the room.  Add a bit of catnip and all the better!  I do love catnip. It makes me, well, so dizzy and happy.  Great stuff!  But then, I am always happy—so maybe that is just me.

Food, I love it all.  Wet, dry, moist, raw—I would eat ten times a day, if you let me. Hopefully, you won’t--which would be a good thing.  But I still appreciate a treat here and there.

Since I love people, I want to be wherever you are.  I will follow you from room to room, like a puppy dog.  If you are watching television, I will climb into your lap.  But that won’t be enough for me.  Once I get there, I will crawl right up onto your chest and plop down as close to your neck as possible.  And then, I will start purring.  I hope you can hear the television over my motor.

While I am snuggling under your chin, I might also roll over for you to scratch my tummy.  Ahh… that is heavenly.  You can scratch under my chin, around my ears, and well, anywhere.  The more attention you give, the more I will purr.  I am not much of a talker, but I do like to purr…and to snuggle.

I do hope you will let me sleep with you at night in bed.  I just love being close. But, as much as I might want to settle down on top of you for the night, it is possible that I could be convinced to move—after a while.  We can talk about that.  I am open to suggestions as long as we can be close.

However, don’t think that, with all this closeness, I don’t also like my own space.  Give me a nice perch near the window and I will happily watch the world go by when you are busy. Maybe my ideal person is someone who is around the house at least part of the day.  In fact, 3 p.m. is a great time to find a place to nap together, in the sun---don’t you think?  If you can’t be there to join me, maybe you have another gentle, friendly feline who could accommodate my need to cuddle?  No dogs, however.  They are just not my cup of tea (or should I say, bowl of kibble?).

So, now that you know how wonderful I am, and have seen my pictures and know how handsome I am, I imagine you are already dialing the phone to call PAWS.  Actually, I am easy to meet.  I am at the PetSmart in Danvers.  You can see me there anytime.  But if you want a chance to hold me and play together, come during adoption hours:  Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.   And come soon.  I really want to get out of this window and go home with you.
