Local Cable Broadcast To Focus On Town Meeting Issues

Five Things You Need To Know: April 19

Today is Tuesday, April 19. Here are five things you need to know:

Town Business: The board of health meets at 5:30 p.m. in the selectmen's room.

Pioneer Sports: The boys varsity and junior varsity baseball teams have 10 a.m. games at Bedford. At 10:30 a.m., the girls varsity softball team has a home game against Nazareth Academy.

Local Cable Presentation: An announcement from the town states that a local cable program will be airing to provide residents with information on issues that will be taken up at Town Meeting on April 25. Board of Selectmen member Al Merritt and Town Administrator William Gustus will review the budget and other issues that will come before voters at the meeting, The program will air at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. daily beginning on Wednesday evening, April 20 at 8 p.m. through Sunday, April 24.  Comcast Cable subscribers can view the programs on Channel 9. Verizon Fios subscribers should tune to Channel 29.

Lunch And A Movie: The Lynnfield Senior Center is having lunch and a movie today starting at 11:30 a.m. Cost of lunch is $2 and individuals can sign up at the Senior Center's desk. Today's movie is "The Proposal" with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds.

Booths at Geraniumfest: There is still time for craftspeople and others to reserve a booth at the May 14 Geraniumfest in Lynnfield. In fact, Lynnfield Middle Schooler Janna Sokolow, a 7th grader, will have a booth there as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award community service project which will focus on encouraging people to recycle more.
