LHS Student Coffee House Tonight For Japan Earthquake Relief

Five Things You Need To Know Today: Wednesday, April 27

Today is Wednesday, April 27. Here are five things you need to know:

LHS Coffee House: Tonight from 7-9 p.m., the Lynnfield High School Music Department is hosting a coffee house to benefit Japanese earthquake relief efforts. The event, to be held in the cafeteria, will feature choral and band students sharing their talents, while art students will be selling handmade items such as handmade origami boxes filled with sweets. Price of admission is $5.

Town Business: There is a planning board meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight at town hall. An assessor's meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m., also at town hall.

LAG Auction Donations: The Lynnfield Art Guild's annual fundraising auction is Thursday night - and Wednesday, community members interested in donating items can bring them to the at 525 Salem Street between 1 and 2:45 p.m. Donated items will also be accepted Thursday from 8 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.

Pioneer Sports: Today the varsity track team has a meet at 3:30 p.m. at Masconomet. Boys and girls varsity tennis both take on Hamilton-Wenham at 3:30 p.m., with the boys at home and the girls on the road. Also, the varsity and junior varsity softball teams both play at 3:45 p.m. at North Andover.

Upcoming FOLL Meeting: Looking ahead a couple of weeks, the Friends of the holds its annual meeting on Monday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the library mezzanine. Along with election of new officers and financial reports, Beth Gallaway, an adjunct professor at Simmons College, will also give a presentation on social networking.
