Gypsy Angel is an Angel and More

Gypsy Angel Wants to Go Home with You

Gypsy Angel Wants Your Love and Affection

Wait, why are you walking by my window?  I want to look at you.  You seem nice.  I know I am nice.  Don’t you think we would make a great pair?  I do.  Why not come inside and meet me?  I am definitely looking for a new home.  This cage at PetSmart is clean and safe, but that is about all I can say for it.  I am ready for a home of my own and you sure look like a good adopter.  You have a dog, you say?  No problem on my part.  Another cat?  Well, that depends.  We can discuss it.

So my name is Gypsy Angel and I am a petite, medium haired, girl with a beautiful black coat and a fleck of white on my chest.  Very elegant, if I do say so myself.  Especially my fluffy tail, which I use to signal my pleasure. Tails are great, aren’t they?  Oh, sorry, you don’t have one.  That’s ok, you can admire mine all you want.

So besides being friendly and curious, I do like to play.  I love toy mice, especially if they have some catnip in them.  Oooh, I do love how that minty herb smells and makes me feel.  The other thing I really love is my scratching post and various scratchers.  I know that is important to you because I have heard that people do not like when cats use their fine sofa to sharpen their claws.  No problem there with me.  Just get me some cardboard scratchers of my own and watch me use them.  It could be more fun than your favorite television shows.  Ok, if you want to watch television that is fine with me too.  I can take time out to join you on the sofa.

Do I sound a bit full of myself?  Well I am a cat and we do tend to think we are royalty.  But really, I am just a very sweet and nice girl who is looking for some fun and affection.  At three years old, I have plenty of energy, but none of those evil kitten traits. I promise not to climb your curtains, raid your trash, or crawl up your leg looking for fun.  Those are things for silly kittens, not young adults like me.  I even like my own down time and have a cute little kitty snuggle area to crawl into.  Every girl needs her privacy and rest and I am no exception.  I call it beauty rest because I am so beautiful.

I have lived with dogs and I am around other cats at PetSmart.  I get along with some cats here, but not with others,   so I could live in a house with another compatible cat, or I could be your one and only.  This is an issue you can discuss with the wonderful PAWS adoption counselor.  She knows everything about me and my likes and dislikes and can give you better advice than even I can.  See, at PAWS they know us very well and are great at making perfect human/feline matches.

But I think I am also a great judge of character.  I see you reading this and I know you are my perfect match.  I already love you and your family (if you have one) and your pets (if you have any) and everything about your house (apartment, cottage, castle, whatever).  After all, I am Gypsy Angel, with an emphasis on the angel part. So come to the PetSmart adoption hours, which are every Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. I’ll be waiting for you.

Hey, wait—one more thing.  Did you know that Mother’s Day is coming and you can always give the gift of love to the mother’s in your life by making a donation to PAWS?  If you donate between now and Mother’s Day, PAWS will send your honoree a lovely card acknowledging the gift.  PAWS is an all-volunteer organization, so you can be certain all your money will go directly to helping the animals like me that they rescue.  It is kitten season and PAWS is taking in many pregnant strays, so this is a great time to donate for mothers of all species and to celebrate your own mothers.  You can donate on PAWS’ website, or mail checks to PAWS, 383R Lowell Street, Suite 5, Wakefield, MA, 01880.  Be sure to include the name and address of the person you are honoring.  And then come to PetSmart to adopt me…Please!!!!

To learn more about Gypsy Angel, or any of our other adoptable cats, kittens, or dogs, contact PAWS at (781) 246-6111 or PAWSwakefield@yahoo.com. You can also meet many of our available pets at our weekly adoption hours: Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at VCA Wakefield Animal Hospital or at the Danvers PetSmart every Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.  Last, but not least, we hold adoption hours at the PETCO in Woburn the first Saturday of every month from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

PAWS is an all-volunteer animal welfare organization. Founded by the late Esther Nowell in 1982, PAWS responds to animal-related needs in many communities north of Boston.  Our top service areas include Wakefield, Lynnfield, Reading, North Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Woburn, Winchester, and Malden.  Our mission is to promote and protect the rights and well-being of all domestic animals and wildlife, and foster a greater understanding of animal welfare and animal rights through education.  PAWS receives no local, state or federal funding.  Our budget is completely funded by our membership dues, adoption services, annual fundraising efforts, and kind donations from friends and members.
